Important Texas Hog Bagging Events Updates
An update about what was supposed to be tomorrow's event and the event I haven't disclosed yet.
Yesterday I released my article about the upcoming Ham Rodeo hog bagging event that was scheduled to take place tomorrow afternoon in Bandera, Texas. However, the Bandera Wranglers have pushed the date back to April 1st due to tomorrow’s weather forecast, which calls for moderate rain.
This is good news because it gives people who want to take action against the event, in one way or another, more time to do so. Plus, this delay buys us two more weeks to bring awareness to the torture fest and two more weeks that sponsors and organizers will have to hear from people. Click here for the full list of sponsors, beneficiary, and organizer contact information for the event.
One of the things that blows me away about animal abusers is not only the entitlement they feel they should have over the lives and bodies of other individuals, but that they should be able to carry out their abuses and murders in peace. They ought to reflect on how lucky they are to never have to face any kind of bodily injury, social isolation, or time behind bars for all of the torture and death they willfully and pleasurably inflict onto others.
The feral pigs brutalized for the hog bagging barbarity now have a new ally to help advocate for them: In Defense of Animals. IDA shared a very thorough and hard-hitting new alert today full of information and ways people can easily take action against all three of these hog bagging events. I wish I had thought to contact them a long time ago, but better late than never. I’m so grateful that with a very limited time window they were able to throw this together. Please head over and sign the personalized letter that asks those behind these events to cancel them altogether and replace them with humane alternatives that don’t use unwilling animals. Oh yes, and please share.
Breaking The Ice On The Sabinal Wild Hog Festival
The Sabinal Wild Hog Festival in Sabinal, TX (about an hour from San Antonio) was the first hog bagging event and it’s the longest-running one that there is. The annual Wild Hog Festival is scheduled to conduct it’s 31st wild hog catching two-day contest March 25th and March 26th at the Sabinal City Park. The Wild Hog Festival is put on by the Sabinal Lions Club and is sponsored by First State Bank of Uvalde, Regal Meat Custom Processing, rNetworks, and Sanford Irrigation & Landscaping. Click here for all the sponsorship contact information.
I’ll go into more detail about the Wild Hog Festival for an upcoming article, but for now you can watch a 2.5 minute video I released today to expose the event. Please consider watching and sharing with others. You can also sign a petition I created against the event.
That’s all from me for right now. I’m exhausted, but I’ll be back with some more updates soon.
Crushing to see the pigs trying so hard to escape. You’d have to be delusional to even think the pigs are enjoying that one bit and there isn’t any harm being inflicted. It’s clear the reason for grabbing them by the ear and tail is because it’s painful and it seems as if this keeps them from fight back as hard, likely because it’s extremely pain to have your entire body weight be held up by your ear and tail. So fucked up.
One of the objectives of this and similar animal abusing entertainments is to socialize the children to become the next generation of the violent culture. While the animals are the most abusively treated obviously, the pig bagging, chicken roping and similar events are a form of child abuse as well. They assault the sensitivities of the children and deform their feelings. It's incredible that our laws allow this to be done. Right now there's an effort in some Red states to introduce or alter state laws to allow children to work in slaughterhouses and other dangerous workplaces, but this effort is being challenged at least. There doesn't seem to be any similar challenge (other than from people like us) to having children participate in violent, dangerous and abusive entertainments like the pig bagging.
